Connect and use Apps

An App is an outside service your Bot can use. Connect it through your client with your own account.

Find an App in the App Index or give its HTTPS address. Review the name, source, endpoint, and required access. When the address lists several Apps, choose one. Finding an App does not connect it.

Confirm the connection. If the App needs sign-in, sign in at its provider and return to your client. Check that the connection is ready before asking the Bot to use it.

Tell the Bot what you want to do. A call can need a decision or more information from you. Read the result in the Chat. Some clients also show an App view; a text result is available too.

If an operation has an unknown outcome, check the actual state in the App before repeating it. It may have done the work already.

Sign in again when access expires. Review a connection again when the App changes where it sends requests or what access it needs. Remove connections you no longer use. An exported App list contains no secrets or sign-ins. Importing it makes drafts that still need review and connection.

Removing a connection can take time while OpenBot closes active work. Local removal can finish before the provider revokes its access. Remote cleanup may wait while another connection still uses related access. Check the cleanup state in your client.

An upgrade keeps saved App history. Some old work cannot continue without its original caller. Check an unknown result in the App before starting new work.
